This area is well known for its scuba diving schools and can cater for the experienced and novice alike. Other water sports include windsurfing, kayaking, skiing, all for which there are schools and equipment hire. There is also a paragliding club in the area and it is quite something to watch them as they come in to land on the beach.
In addition to the large swimming pool at El Pueblo, the sea at La Herradura is a safe place for swimming. However, as with all coastal areas there can be times when the sea is too rough for swimming. If the red flag is flying, pay heed.
A choice of tennis courts are located close to the house. A little further afield are a choice of excellent golf courses.
La Herradura has its own football team, which may not be in one of the top divisions, but it can be quite fun to watch the home team playing. The football season in Spain is fairly similar to that in England.
